TWENTY-FOUR SEVEN

I fell out of bed and stepped on the cat,
I landed flat and hit my head.
I heard a drone, couldn’t find my phone.
Toothpaste on my dearest shirt makes me look like a nerd

Milk was sour, coffee out,
The bread was stale, outside clouds.
The wind was cold, the rain was wet,
Cats and dogs, and the bus was late …

Twenty-four seven my life is heaven,
With a little hell in-between.
Twenty-four seven all is good,
As long as I am in a good mood

Forgot my bag, ain’t got no cash,
Could only put a button on the driver’s dash.
All seats were taken, I hung on to the rail,
I kind of slipped and broke my nail.

I missed my station to get off,
And if that wasn’t already enough,
Between those boots a little dog was sitting.
I really didn’t mean to hurt him …

I was late for my date,
I didn’t want to make her wait.
