In the short time that the band has been together, EPILOGUE has established itself as an explosive force of musical energy, with a sound somewhere between metalcore and traditional heavy metal. The band was formed in the spring of 2005 and was originally planned as a hardcore based side project of singer Markus Ehre(Violence Approved) and bass player Torben Ley(ex-Phoenix Plan guitarist). After the addition of Michael Volz(drums), Frank Bonner(guitar), and Christian Theisinger(guitar and vocals), they decided to break with all typical Line-up traditions and add a third guitar. Since no fitting candidate could be found in the immediate area, Torben switched from bass to guitar and Timo Schilb(ex-Killed by Malaise) took over the part of bass player. With this particular formation, the band was able to be more flexible in its songwriting, and was able to create an incredible, brutally saturated sound that became the bands tradmark. EPILOGUE considers itself on a par with such bands as Heaven Shall Burn, As I Lay Dying, Caliban, Unearth, or Himsa and counts bands like Iron Maiden and Slayer among the many bands that have influenced its members. As soon as the first songs were written, the band got to work and recorded the EP Weapon of Truth, which was released in January 2006. After playing its first three live shows, the band established itself as the showcase band in the southwestern German Metal and Hardcore scene. Considering how concentrated and appearing as well synchronized unit on stage, it is no wonder that EPILOGUE comes across like an angry, forbidding behemoth. From the first note on, the band commands the stage, and demands the audiences attention, visually and acoustically. Singer/shouter Ehre often comes down off the stage and right in the faces of the fans, getting his message across one man at a time, while the guitars behind him slaughter all musical boundaries. Their unconventional, no-holds-barred style, and outstanding musical ability has earned them gigs with such well known bands as Death By Stereo, Himsa, Machine Made God,Fear My Thoughts ,Neaera and Crosscut. EPILOGUE stands for new blood in the german metalcore scene and are definitely a band to be reckoned with
